Artist Michael Beitz has taken the idea of the traditional outdoor picnic table to a new level with his creative and unique outdoor designs. Some are practical. Others are not.

We would recommend finding a more practical outdoor table, unless your ultimate goal is to capture the attention of your entire neighborhood with one of these bizarre picnic tables.

No these are not practical, but they’re inventive pieces of art that encourage everyone to get outside and eat together.

About Michael Beitz

Michael Beitz is an artist who gained his MFA from the University of Buffalo in 2009. Originally from New York State, Beitz spent a number of years working as a furniture maker for artists and designers while continuing his studio practice. Beitz creates large-scale installations and sculpture inspired by the social, personal, and material functions of furniture. Although humorous and playful, these works also speak to the complexity of human relationships and reveal deeper psychological impacts of our experience with everyday objects.
